Two More Champions Crowned


WVBA Mizuno 14-Gold Celebrate 1st Place Finish at President's Day

SEATTLE, WA--Feb. 13, 2009
Adidas President's Day
WVBA Mizuno 16 played in the U18 division of the Adidas President's Day Tournament. They swept through the 18s teams all the way through to the finals where they won it all.

WVBA Mizuno 16-Gold played in the top U16 Division of the President's Day Tournament and finished 3rd in U16 Div. I Bronze.

WVBA Mizuno 15 played in the U15 division of the President's Day tournament. They were undefeated through the first two days and earned a bye into the semi-finals of the Gold Division. The Academy 15s were upset by the Academy 14s in the semi-finals to finish 3rd.

WVBA Mizuno 14 played in the U15 division of the President's Day Tournament. They finished 2nd in their pools on Saturday and Sunday to set up a challenging 3-set win over West Valley of Oregon in the first round of Gold on Monday. They faced off against the Academy 15s in the semi-finals and downed the elder team in an emotional 3-set thriller (17-25, 25-23, 15-12).

WVBA Mizuno 14-Gold played in the top division of U14s at the President's Day Tournament. They jumped out of the gate early Saturday morning with a 2-0 win over powerhouse Nike NW of Portland. Their winning ways continued as they won their pool on Saturday and again on Sunday. On Monday they really stepped up and worked their way to the final match where they won it all to claim the 2nd WVBA title of the day.

Las Vegas Invitational
WVBA Mizuno 18 went 1-2 on day 1 in Las Vegas dropping them into the lower half. They won their next five matches before falling to Rage 18 Red to finish 2nd in Flight 3A or 53rd overall in 18 Open.

WVBA Mizuno 17 went 2-1 in their first round pool to stay in the top half. Day 2 was a tougher one as they dropped all three of their matches with two of the matches requiring 3 sets. They lost to NorCal Black 17 in the second round of Flight 1A to finish 39th overall in 17 Open.

Power League 3
WVBA Mizuno 18 will be playing as the #1 seed in the Gold Pool B at the next 18s Power League on Sunday, March 1st at the Evergreen State College in Olympia.

WVBA Mizuno 17 will be the #1 seed in Silver Pool B at the next 18s Power League on Sunday, March 1st at the Kitsap Pavilion in Bremerton.

WVBA Mizuno 16 will once again be the #1 seed in the Gold Pool A at the next 16s Power League on Saturday, February 28th at Monroe High School.

WVBA Mizuno 16-Gold will be the #4 seed of the Bronze Pool B at the next 16s Power League on Saturday, February 28th at Lake Stevens High School.

WVBA Mizuno 15 will be the #4 seed of Gold Pool B at the next 16s Power League on Saturday, February 28th at Monroe High School.

WVBA Mizuno 14 will be the #3 seed of Gold Pool B at the next 15s Power League on Saturday, February 28th at Monroe Junior High School.

WVBA Mizuno 14-Gold will be the #2 seed of Silver Pool B at the next 14s Power League on Sunday, March 1st at Fife High School.
