SEATTLE, WA--Feb. 13, 2009
Power League #3
WVBA Mizuno 18 fell to KJ 18 Baden in the final of the PSR Power League #3 session last Sunday. The Academy 18s still hold the overall lead in point total.

WVBA Mizuno 17 will drop out of Gold for session #4. The Academy 17s started very strong in the morning but faded by afternoon and ended 8th in Gold with a single set loss to Island Thunder 18 Under Armour.

WVBA Mizuno 16 defeated Capital 16 Ice in the semi-finals and then went on to beat Island Thunder 16 Under Armour in the finals to once again finish undefeated on the day and throughout the Power League thus far.

WVBA Mizuno 16-Gold finished 1st in Flight 4 and will move into Bronze for Power League #4.

WVBA Mizuno 15 finished 1st in the Silver division of the U16 Power League with a win over YMCA Blaze 16 in the Silver Final. This finish will allow the Academy 15s to move into Gold for the Power League #4 session on February 28th.

WVBA Mizuno 14 held their seed and finished 6th in the Gold Division of the U15 Power League.

WVBA Mizuno 14-Gold finished 3rd in Silver just barely missing the right to move up to Gold. They will again play in the 14 Silver Division on March 1st for Power League #4.

Las Vegas Invitational
WVBA Mizuno 18 are in Las Vegas for President's Day weekend for the largest recruiting tournament until year's end. They will begin play on Saturday morning at Silverado High School. They are the #2 seed in their pool and the #40 seed overall (out of 100) in the 18 Open Division. Their round 1 pool pits them against #1 Rancho Valley 18-D from southern Cal, #3 Temecula 18 Dana/Kel also from southern Cal, and #4 Xceleration 18 Blue from northern Cal.

Las Vegas Invitational
WVBA Mizuno 17 are also in Las Vegas and will begin their first day of pool play at Silverado High School in the PM wave. They are the #1 seed in their first pool and #19 overall (out of 76) in the 17 Open Division. In their round 1 pool they will face #2 Sky High 17 Black from Chicago, #3 Gainesville 17 Black from Florida and #4 Impact 17 Erick from southern Cal.

President's Weekend Tourney
WVBA Mizuno 16 will be playing in the U18 Division I group this weekend in the Adidas® President's Day Weekend Tournament hosted by NW Juniors. The Academy 16s will start out in the AM wave at Renton High School on Saturday. They come in with the #8 overall seed and will face NCWVBC 18s from Central Washington, Blues 17 Power from Oregon and NW Juniors 17 Thunder in their first round pool.

WVBA Mizuno 16-Gold will be playing in the PM wave beginning around 2:30pm at Renton High School. 16-Gold is playing in Division 1 of the U16 age group and will be facing Excel NW 16 Black, Webfoot 16 Gold and Blues 16 Power all from Oregon.

WVBA Mizuno 15 will be playing in the PM wave beginning around 2:30pm at Highline High School in Burien. The 15s will be playing in their first U15 division competition of the year and will face Cowlitz 14 Black of Longview, WA, Lynnwood Spike It 15s and Asics Athena 15 Beta from Oregon.

WVBA Mizuno 14 will also be playing in the U15 Division and will begin play in the PM wave at Meridian Junior High School. They will face Webfoot 15 Gold of Eugene, OR, Lake Tapps 15s and Asics Athena 15 Alpha from Oregon.

WVBA Mizuno 14-Gold will be playing in the AM wave on Saturday beginning at 8:00am at Highline High School in Burien. They will be playing Nike® NW 14 Air/Elite, Clark County 14 Black and Multnomah Athletic Club 14 Black all from the Columbia Empire Region.
