WVBA to Hold Open House

2007 WVBA Mizuno 16 Team Receives Bronze Medal at Junior Olympics

SEATTLE, WA--Oct. 11, 2008
We are preparing to launch our 2009 USA Volleyball competitive season. Practice sites are being finalized, competition schedules are being reviewed, coaching line-ups are being finalized, and soon teams will be selected.

If you are a motivated student athlete (or parent of one) and would like to learn more about playing on a club team for the Academy, we will be holding an Open House on Saturday, October 25th. The Open House will be held at the Former Woodway High School (Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center) in Edmonds. The program will provide families with a general overview of club philosophies and allow for questions and answers. We will begin at 12:00 noon and finish around 1:00pm.

If you have any questions, please contact our Club Administrator Tracy Nelson by email at tracy@wvba.org.

WVBA will be forming seven teams for the 2008-09 USA Volleyball Season. We will form two teams in the U17-U18 age divisions (mostly 11th and 12th graders), three teams in the U15-U16 age divisions (mostly 9th and 10th graders), and two teams in the U13-U14 age divisions (mostly 7th and 8th graders).

We will hold tryouts on either November 15th or 16th for the U13-U14 teams and on December 6th for the U15-U18 teams. We will begin training in December and start competing in early January. We will continue training and competing through the first week of July.

Since 1999 WVBA has sent over 30 teams to the Junior Olympic national championships. Please attend our Open House for more information and to have all of your questions answered.
