2007 USA Volleyball Season Underway


WVBA Mizuno 13s face off against WVBA Mizuno 14s at Power League

SEATTLE, WA - Jan. 11, 2007
WVBA kicked off its 2007 competitive season with five teams in action at the inaugural Puget Sound Power League last weekend.

WVBA Mizuno 18 finished 2nd in the Gold Division after dropping a single game to 25 match for the finals late Sunday night at Fife High School. Sudden Impact 18 Tsunami came off an emotional win over KJ 18 Baden and served very tough for the first half of the game. Both teams will likely meet up again next month for the second installment of Power League.

Mizuno 18 Red and Mizuno 17 both finished in the Copper Division and will be facing off again in February to see which two teams from Copper can move up to Silver for the final round of Power League in March.

WVBA Mizuno 13 and WVBA Mizuno 14 both finished in the Silver Division with the 13s finishing 3rd and the 14s 4th. They will be in opposite pools of Silver for the next round of Power League in February.

WVBA Mizuno 13 had a great first tournament. All players contributed including the bench which was outstanding in their support during the tournament.

Kendal Munoz set a 5-1 offense for the entire tournament. Hannah Linsenmeyer led the team in kills and Emmy Allen saved the day with her consistent serving.

MLK and Fiesta this Weekend
WVBA Mizuno 17 and Mizuno 16 are headed to Phoenix to participate in the Fiesta Classic hosted by the Arizona Juniors Volleyball Club at Arizona State University. This tournament is held over three days beginning on Saturday morning and finishing on Monday afternoon. We will try to send updates from Phoenix if possible.

WVBA Mizuno 18, WVBA Mizuno 18-Red, and WVBA Mizuno 15 will be participating in the MLK Invitational this weekend at Juanita High School.

WVBA Mizuno 15 will begin play on Saturday morning at 9:30 against Salem 15 Black. They will finish play Sunday morning.

WVBA Mizuno 18 will begin their play on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm against Rimrock 18 Black. WVBA Mizuno 18-Red will begin their tournament Sunday afternoon at 2:30 against Narrows Purple 18-1. Both teams will finish their play on Monday.

WVBA Mizuno 13 and Mizuno 14 will have the weekend off before returning to play in two weeks on January 28th.
