2007 Power League Begins Saturday

The Inaugural Puget Sound Power League Kicks off Jan. 6th

SEATTLE, WA - 1/5/07
WVBA will be sending five teams across the Puget Sound area (in the broadest sense of the term 'across') to kick off the 2007 competitive season. Our eldest three teams plus our youngest two teams will be in action on both Saturday and Sunday at various sites from Port Angeles to Bellevue.

WVBA Mizuno® 18 and Mizuno® 18 Red will be starting their first round pools at Bellevue Community College while Mizuno® 17 will be nearby at Tillicum Middle School. All three teams are competing in the U17/U18 combined field of 48 teams.

The first round of pool play will be played in AM/PM waves. All three of our teams will be playing in the AM wave starting at 8:00am. Round two will take place in Fife for the top 24 teams after round 1 while the bottom 24 teams will play again in Bellevue. After the 2nd round of pool play, there will be a playoff bracket to determine the 8-team tiers for the February round of Power League.

U13/U14 Division
Our two youngest teams (and their families and coaches) will be touring the western portion of our vast state beginning with a ferry ride over to the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas on Saturday morning. Click here for a ferry schedule! Both teams will be competing in the combined U13/U4 division with a total of 58 teams.

WVBA Mizuno® 14 will be playing at Port Angeles High School on Saturday morning. Mizuno® 13 will be visiting the beautiful Kitsap Pavilion in Bremerton on Saturday morning.

After round 1 pool play the teams will play some bracket play in the afternoon on Saturday to determine seeding into the round 2 pools for Sunday. It is possible that teams may play in a different location on Sunday. Gold and Silver divisions will be at the Kitsap Pavilion, while the Bronze division will be held at Olympic College in Bremerton. The Copper division will be at Port Angeles High School.
