3rd Day in Belo Horizonte, by Hannah Harrison
July 25, 2007

Today Amy and I woke up to yet another wonderful breakfast prepared by Martha (housekeeper). After we finished eating we walked up to Minas Tênis Clube, and had a two hour training session from 9-11 with Marcelo Melado, a coach from the Minas Tênis Clube.

The practice session was on individual skills, and ball handling. We did many different drills, some familiar, some not. We are learning many new skills, and improving with each session. Having a different coach is also very beneficial, and all of us enjoy Marcelo's company.

After our first session was over, Amy and I headed back to our house and had a big lunch prepared by Martha. She cooked us the typical rice and beans, a Chicken dish, and followed it up with a homemade Brazilian Bolo De Chocolate Cake. It was the best cake Amy and I have ever had!

After our meal, we headed over to the Havaiana store and bought tons of flip-flops! After that, we headed over to a Piercing/tattoo place, and Amy and I got our ears pierced! It was very painful, but well worth it. We then went over to the mall really quick and bought some souvenirs and T-shirts for family and friends.

When we finally finished shopping, we then went back to the club, and had our second practice of the day. The second practice of the day was a team practice. Dave W, Dave M, and April coached us, and ran us through some serve-receive drills, then finished the practice with rotation run-throughs. After our final practice of the day, a bunch of girls walked over to an ice cream shop! The ice cream was different, but very good!

Amy, Clara, Laura, and I then went back home, and hung out with Raquel for a bit. After Raquel left, we ate some snacks such as cheese bread, beef, and fresh squeezed juice. Following our snack, we headed to bed for another early morning!
