I have been playing volleyball since 1985. Growing up in southern California I was fortunate to be introduced to the sport at a young age. I played throughout junior high and high school at several different positions before ending up as a setter. I continued playing as a setter in junior college for one season before leaving California and moving to Washington.

Once here I started playing locally both indoor and outdoor. I started to meet the people in the area that are involved in the sport and decided to try coaching. My coaching tenure began with a few years at Northwest Juniors, later moving over to WVBA where I have been coaching since 2003. During this time I have also coached at Summit High School, leading the team to State for the first time in school history. I spent a year as the assistant coach at Northwest University and have spent the past 4 years as the head coach at Eastside Catholic High School including a 2nd-place finish in the state in 2008.

I am married to high school sweetheart Linda Thais Ness and we live in Bothell with way too many cats and birds and a cute dog named Nutmeg. When I'm not coaching you can find me taking pictures of this and that or playing volleyball, though that is getting harder in my advanced years.
