Went down to the Nasselle for the holiday weekend. Poor fishing at best. Saturday was slow. Only one hookup for me, three for my brother and two for my cousin. Sunday was slower. I had no fish on and the same story for my cousin. My little brother had one fish on that he landed. A nice hen about 25 lbs. First fish of the weekend. Monday, our last day, I was the only one with a hook up. Landed a nice, bright 18-20 lb hen. Beautiful fish. That was it. We only saw 6-8 fish cought the entire weekend. It was slow. Well maybe next weekend.

The day started out slow. The tide was out and the fishing was dead. So we decided to go get something to eat and wait for the incoming tide. And when we returned to the river we happen to stumble upon a hole that was holding fish. I cast my line out and the fish were bumping like crazy. I hooked and landed a chinook that weighed about 20 lbs. And my little cousin hooked three and landed one. It turned out to be a great day.

Went to the naselle for the opener. It was probably the worst year in 9 years. Dark fish were being kept by other anglers. Saw only a few bright fish caught. I had a nice 20 pound chrome king on only to have it sliced off by a guy who was fishing across the river, who apparently refused to reel in even after I hollered fish on twice.
Four people on the other side made it pretty much impossible to fish the river without constantly tangling up. Recent years have been quite a zoo, but this year was the worst.... I wonder how I can propose a law stating that you can't fish on the south side of the spillway by the fish hatchery spillway???
