My dad took me to the Elwha to try and hook my first Steelhead. We got to the river at about 8:30 in the morning and we left at about 3:30. We didn't get one bite. There was only about 2 feet visibility. My dad and I are going to try our luck next weekend. Good Luck fishing.

My dad and I went out to the Elwah River today, to try and catch me my first Steelhead but, we didn't get anything. I didn't get one bite nor did my father. The river was not very clear there was only about two feet of visibility. It rained all morning and it let up a little in the afternoon. My dad and I were both using flatfish. I am very excited to get my first Steelhead. Good fishing.

Actually hit the river three days this week, both before and after the rain...skunked
all three days! Fished the mouth and upriver below the state hatchery. Threw spinners
and spoons mostly, but watched others drifting and floating eggs and herring, all
without much luck. The only people catching fish were the local tribe in their
nets near the mouth. The fish are there, but they seem to be suffering from lockjaw.
